Calilio is a cloud phone system that gives a small business a professional calling setup without PBX hardware. It provides virtual phone numbers in multiple countries including the UK, call forwarding, IVR and auto-attendant, call queues, call recording, voicemail with transcription, SMS and MMS, and AI features for transcription, summaries and sentiment analysis. The pitch is that a business can have a UK number, route calls to mobile and desktop devices, record and analyse conversations, and text customers — all from a browser and apps, with no telephony hardware to buy.
The UK relevance is real and verified. Calilio publishes a dedicated UK number page, offers the first UK number free with any paid subscription, supports local geographic numbers, toll-free 0800 and 0808 numbers, mobile 07 numbers and vanity numbers, and supports UK number porting. The site lists dedicated pages for sixteen UK cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. This is not a US-only product with UK numbers as an afterthought — the UK is one of its six featured markets.
The pricing model is the part that needs care. Every plan carries a per-user price with bundled outgoing and incoming minutes and SMS, plus a $1 sign-up wallet credit. Calls beyond the bundle deduct from the wallet, and Calilio sells prepaid calling packs — UK packs range from $14 for 500 minutes to $450 for 20,000 minutes. The model can be cheaper than flat per-minute rates for predictable usage, but it requires the business to estimate call volumes and top up the wallet, which is more administrative than a simple per-minute bill.
What Calilio is not matters for a UK buyer. It is not a certified-security platform: the data security policy explicitly disclaims ISO 27001 and SOC 2. It is not a UK vendor: the company is a Singapore entity with primary data hosting in Singapore and no UK data residency option. And it is not a mature integration ecosystem: Pipedrive, HubSpot, Pabbly Connect and a Chrome extension are live, while Salesforce, Zendesk and Zoho CRM are listed as coming soon.
UK Business Stack classifies Calilio as the telephony layer of a small-business stack: it sits between the customer-facing channels where calls and messages arrive and the CRM where customer conversations are recorded, and it tries to hold enough of the middle that a small business sounds bigger than it is.
